By: Ralph W.Gerard - "Reason can answer questions, but imagination has to ask them."
When kids use their imagination in pretend play, role-playing as other characters, they practice what it's like to be someone else, maybe a princess even or a knight or even a Fire Fighter! Dressing up is also a great way to help your children develop good self-esteem. It can give them the confidence to believe that they can be anything they want to be! Children pretending with other children can help they learn and work on skills such as cooperation, negotiation, collaboration and sharing responsibilities.
